The insider threat is an ever growing menace, and preventing and detecting internal fraud is critical to business success - and survival. But internal fraud incidents can be complex, opaque and multi-faceted - involving real people, real emotions and real consequences.

Cifas Fraud and Cyber Academy have worked with Cognitas' innovative View 360 technology to create a unique immersive learning experience for HR and people services professionals, as well as anyone tasked with investigating or combating internal fraud in their organisation.

Immersive learning creates a simulated environment, through which you will become completely immersed in the learning process, allowing you to control the outcomes by connecting you with real experiences. Very similar to how individuals work together in a virtual escape room, you'll work in teams to evaluate the evidence and formulate your initial response. And, like a real case, as you investigate, new twists will occur, and new evidence will come to light - and you'll need to adapt and respond to these revelations.

You'll work under expert guidance of Cifas Fraud and Cyber Academy tutors, who will assist you in your investigations as well as prepare you for the incident beforehand with an in-depth teaching session.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the role of professionals in a multidisciplinary insider threat team.
  2. Explain the role in deterring, detecting, and managing the risks associated with the insider threat.
  3. Develop a corporate investigation strategy to manage the initial incident.
  4. Demonstrate the skills to respond in an appropriate way to an internal threat incident.
  5. Describe the methods of managing the welfare of an employee during a disciplinary investigation.
